The Dragon’s Flight into the Gemini/Sagittarius Axis

'Mind' by Mythka

The Dragon’s Flight into the Gemini/Sagittarius Axis
5/5/2020 – 1/18/2022

Recently, the Moon’s nodes shifted from our last lessons of the Cancer/Capricorn plane to the lessons of Gemini/Sagittarius. The Lunar nodes, in scientific terms, are the points where the orbit of the Moon crosses the ecliptic. The astrological implications of the lunar nodes are about karmic lessons, the relationship between the outmoded past and the creative future, and the necessary balance between what we’ve already learned and no longer need to focus on (The Dragon's Tail: South Node in Sagittarius) and what we must learn now, however uncomfortable and uncharted the territory, for the growth of our souls (The Dragon's Head: North Node in Gemini).

Each of us has our own natal nodes and lessons, which are a significant part of the answer to the age-old questions, ‘Why am I here?’ and ‘What is my soul’s purpose?’ But the positions the Nodes are in at the present moment affect the collective soul’s growth of our entire global community.  So while we are each having our own soul’s intentions directing us one way, those lessons are also being influenced on a global scale by the current position of the Nodes. Those who were born with North Node in Gemini will be having a Nodal Return during this transit, which happens approximately every 18-19 years. At these initiations, the soul work that arises brings us back to re-alignment with our soul’s path and offers us significant growth in our journey.

One of the ways this shift will play out collectively for the Soul of Humanity is in what we are learning.  The South Node in Sagittarius will provide the transformative fire for many karmic beliefs around religion, politics, and philosophies.  The smoke from that purifying fire then rises to the air of the North Node in Gemini for us to take in as new information:  a dispatch/message from our past for the nourishment of our future.  The Soul Medicine now is in networking ideas through communicating in our local environments.

At the beginning of this shift from watery Cancer lessons to airy Gemini lessons, many of us are learning how to make these exchanges from home…while others are in the local scene working to support their neighbors during this crucial stage of our collective experience.  The Gemini network of support is there to help, and it’s coming from the people…not the crumbling structures of control (Capricorn shadow) or broken belief systems (Sagittarius shadow) we’re moving beyond now.  From the mother’s womb of Cancer’s familiar and emotional bonds, Gemini soul lessons arise.  We’re being asked to open up our minds so that new fascinating ideas can feed our souls.

Immediate Lessons through Mind, Heart, and Shadow

'Gemini' by Ciro Marchetti
As we learn how to better communicate through the Mind of the Soul (Psyche), Venus slows down to station retrograde in Gemini this week (May 13th).  In this Venusian pause and shift (a reconsideration of values for the Collective Heart), we’ll be re-discovering some valuable gems of knowledge in this mutable air sign.  The teacher of Gemini Mysteries is Mercury, who has just entered this sign on May 11th…leading up to Venus’s retrograde station.  Mercury knows well how to navigate and communicate messages through Gemini air channels.  And Venus will be re-tracing some steps to meet up with Mercury (May 22nd)…just after her return (May 20th) to that dynamic square with Neptune we’ve recently experienced (May 3rd) in Round One of her Gemini travels.

Toward the end of Mercury’s quick journey through Gemini this year, this messenger planet of the Collective Mind will meet up with the North Node (May 27-28) and clarify a soul message we’ll be working with in the next couple of years.  Then, at the Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius (June 5th), we come to a turning point of this year as we move through some shadows of Sagittarius past.  With Moon eclipsed on the South Lunar Node, the shadows of our karmic beliefs will surface and we’ll experience our first release of those which need to transmute in the fire.

The Broader Scope of the Nodal Dragon’s Journey in Mutable Air and Fire

"If we can stay with the tension of opposites long enough - sustain it, be true to it - we can sometimes become vessels within which the divine opposites come together and give birth to a new reality."
~Marie-Louise von Franz

Our overall lessons for the Collective Soul now have to do with the relational axis between Mind (Gemini) and Higher Mind (Sagittarius). Here are some keywords and phrases to describe this new soul directive:

Nourishment to ingest through the Dragon’s Head (North Node in Gemini):  curiosity, communication, articulation, language, the written word, conscious socialization, versatility, open-mindedness, an inquisitive approach to information, healthy skepticism, understanding the facts, intellect, cleverness, the Sacred Clown wisdom of humor and opposites, the two sides of every coin, brotherhood/sisterhood, playful platonic connection, listening, cooperation, people before politics, Humanity’s voice, support network of the Anima Loci (local spirits), neighborhood support, local engagement, short-distance travel, mental discoveries, exchange of new ideas, new neuro-pathways, fascinating thoughts, soul-enhancing discussions/writings/speeches.

Past knowledge, karma, or shadow material to release and transmute through the Dragon’s Tail (South Node in Sagittarius):  beliefs and philosophies that created karmic blocks in our Collective Soul’s “digestive system”, fear of commitment, fear of loss of freedom, ‘flight mode’ when things get heavy, spiritual bypassing (ie. ‘good vibes only’), excessive and unrealistic optimism, what is too often preached but not practiced, dogmatic opinions, politics above people, religious fundamentalism, educational elitism, ‘ivory tower’ separateness, ‘high horse’ diatribes, ‘I know’ assertions, supercilious opinion, judgmental mindset, unsolicited advice, tactlessness, abstraction of truth, blowing things out of proportion, exaggeration, sensationalism, condescension, escaping consciousness, excessive far-away travel, ‘grass is greener’ outlook, reliance on luck, risky business ventures, need for adventure or adrenaline rush, ‘bigger, better, faster, stronger’, expansion beyond immediate needs, outward quest for answers, the shadows of globalized society.

Now, I think we all know that the above list of karmic entanglements and shadows of Sagittarius are not the essence of this fire sign.  They are simply what we need to address now, together, to remove some blockages we’ve accumulated as a Collective.  The essence of Sagittarian mutable fire is what this purifying release can become, like the lift of smoke from the ash.

'Wisdom' by Arborithm
What this digestive process of information gives to our world:  joy of life, freedom of thought, spiritual expansion through learning and teaching, enthusiastic curiosity, connection with the network of our natural world, balance between our intellectual awareness and our instinctual wisdom, visionary inspiration, a ‘think globally, act locally’ consciousness, the spread of thought-seeds ‘on the wind’, diversity and variety, the birth of new philosophies within the mindscapes of our generations, revelations of reason and logic (especially in things that are suffixed with ‘-logy’, such as theology, biology, psychology, mythology, and astrology), the knowledge needed to boldly go forth and explore an uncharted future.

The Personal Journey of the Soul

While we’ll all be feeling into these new lessons now, only some of us were born to hold this frequency on our soul path throughout life.  Many of the rest of us have our nodes in other signs, which is what we’re here to work with and learn throughout our lives.  And yet, when we are connecting with the Collective Soul directive of this time, our individual soul path is supported by working with these Gemini-Sagittarius lessons.

To see in what areas of life this shift affects you personally, look to the houses in your natal chart where Gemini and Sagittarius are. The last time the nodes were in this axis was between 2001 and 2003. Try to remember what was going on in your life at that time to get an idea of what is to come now, after maturing since then. Astrology follows patterns, and recognizing those patterns can help you to work with the energies when they come around again.

Full Moon in Scorpio: Deeper Down and In

'Inner Moon' by Constantin Popescu

Full Moon in Scorpio: Deeper Down and In
Moon opposite Sun- 5/7/20 @ 5:48am CDT

The Flower Moon is full while many collective shifts are taking place, ushering us into new phases of this endurance test we are all going through.  On the 5th, the lunar nodes shifted from the Cancer-Capricorn axis (Cardinal Water and Earth) into the Gemini-Sagittarius axis (Mutable Air and Fire).  This is an initiation to a two-and-a-half year cycle of new lessons for the Collective Soul.  The Soul directive now is to release some past beliefs and ways of envisioning our world so that we may open up to new information, new ideas, and new ways of communicating.

We are also about to embark on multiple retrograde journeys in the week ahead with Saturn, Venus, then Jupiter joining Pluto as a Cosmic Clean Up Crew.  It’s a time of shifting perspectives…looking at things with wiser eyes.  Retrograde planets are in the part of their cycle where they come closer to Earth.  So this tends to shift the focus inward, bringing all that is happening even closer to Home.  In these Retrograde times, we often retrace some steps…finding something important that we may have previously missed so that we can eventually integrate that wisdom into the Collective Storyline.

This Scorpio Full Moon brings us to the threshold of deep soul changes that must occur…much like a rebirth.  Often the rebirth is very personal, very internal, for each of us…but it carries an impact for the Collective rebirth.  This Moon is potent and transformational…you can feel it opening us up to what wants to change.

The luminaries have some support at this time from both Mercury (conjunct Sun in Taurus) and Neptune in Pisces in flowing aspects.  This can be a very inspiring time…but remember:  Attention is the Coin of the Realms.  So what you are paying attention to will be integral to your experience.  Are you paying Fear or Love with your attention?  We’re in Taurus Season, so what you give to will grow.

Mercury can lend a voice to the magic within this time…sending the messages through the loving earth of Taurus.  And Neptune brings in some creative and spiritual opportunities that we can dream into being.  On the flip side of this coin though is some confusion through mixed messages.  Connect with your intuition to find the flow that you really need right now.  Take your time, no need to rush in these vibrations.  Planets are slowing down to station and the Taurus-Scorpio axis of our luminaries coaxes us to be more deliberate with our process.  Taurus inclines us to savor the experience and Scorpio inclines deepening the investigation of what we truly desire.  You may want to ‘sit for a spell’, allow the unfolding to occur within.

Interestingly, all this is happening in the midst of questions of ‘relaxing restrictions’ so that things may return to ‘normal’.  Outward activity is somewhat at odds with the cosmic message at this time, and ‘normal’ is already a passing and transforming concept.  Yet, many are feeling the need to break out from this transitional period we’ve been in for months already.  A message to do the internal work this time is calling for is not so welcome for those who want to resume ‘business as usual’.  The full shift of this time has not completely occurred.  It is an uncomfortable transition year we’re in, yes…but an outward push to get back in action may be premature.  It could be like opening up a chrysalis before the butterfly is ready.  There is a natural timing underlying this shift that needs much more patience than what is being collectively displayed.

Scorpio often brings up these crisis points where we see what we’re made of.  And a Full Moon is inherently an opposition of the luminaries…which calls for finding a balance between opposing sides.  Extremes are often illuminated in Scorpio Moon light; it can take us to our edges.  Instead of getting pulled to one extreme or another, Taurus urges us to find some common ground from which we can grow.

Love and Gratitude,
Felina Lune Kavi

P.S.  The evening before this Full Moon, I discussed Rites of Passage with Amanda Pua Walsh of Astrology Hub...as Humanity is collectively going through an important Rite of Passage this year.  I hope it will inspire others to look at the many transitions of our lives in new ways.  You can view/listen here:  Rites of Passage.

New Moon in Taurus: Finding Fortune in a Series of Unfortunate Events

New Moon in Taurus:  Finding Fortune in a Series of Unfortunate Events
Moon conjunct Sun- 4/22/20 @ 9:24pm CDT

“At times the world may seem an unfriendly and sinister place, but believe that there is much more good in it than bad.  All you have to do is look hard enough, and what might seem to be a series of unfortunate events may in fact be the first steps of a journey.”  –Lemony Snicket

Art by Josephine Wall
Ah, Taurus season…a time of slowing down to receive and appreciate the many gifts of Mother Nature’s abundance.  Taurus is a sign of fixed earth, and so has a steadier and more deliberate pace than the action-packed sign of Aries before it.  This New Moon begins on Earth Day, suggesting the renewal of our connection with our Earth as a way of initiating the path ahead.

In the Southern Hemisphere, this is a time to harvest and feast on the fruits of your labor and preserve what you can for the coming winter.  In the Northern Hemisphere, this is the beginning of the Flower Moon…where the slower-paced Taurus season unfolds the blossoms and delights the senses.

But things are not so simple, delightful, and comfortable as this Venusian earth sign prefers…nothing is quite so easy this year.  This New Moon is conjunct Uranus (the planet of unexpected shocks, surprises, innovations, and awakenings).  The luminaries and Uranus are also at the apex of a T-square pattern with Saturn (the planet of societal structures, restrictions, and confinement in the fixed air sign of Aquarius) and Astraea (the asteroid of justice and last-stitch efforts to help humankind beyond their follies in the fixed fire sign of Leo).  The apex of a T-square is where all the tension pools from the opposition.  So, we are beginning this Flower Moon cycle under some dynamic pressure to take action and alleviate that tension.  Whatever intent we infuse into the seeds of this cycle, it can have a potent impact.

Helping us along with some subtler vibrations are the Lunar Nodes, providing a flow of opportunity to direct this cycle’s intent toward the needs of the Collective Soul.  Mother Earth may have some surprising shocks in the works to awaken us to all that is necessary and vital in this time, but there is much creative ingenuity to be accessed on a soul level in response.

'Five of Coins'
from the Darkness of Light Tarot.
This card corresponds with the first
decan of Taurus, where our luminaries
conjunct Uranus.  It refers to the Dark Night
of the Soul and the material troubles we may
be mired in...but also shows us the light
of hope that guides us within.
Perhaps, in our largely Saturnian view of ordinary reality…we have not been seeing the extraordinary reality just beyond the limits of our collective awareness.  When so many are held captive in an apparent state of scarcity, constriction, and fear…often the light at the end of the dark tunnel goes unnoticed.  If all you see is doom and gloom, you may be looking in the wrong places.  That light is closer than it appears.

This cycle is not a panacea for the ills of the current conundrum.  However, it is an awakening to the resources we each have within us to help endure, and eventually thrive, within and beyond this time.  This New Moon asks us to increase our awareness and our gratitude for the unfolding potential of this year’s journey.  There is a great shift in values that is happening throughout the world…as what was once thought as valuable is proving to be less reliable, solid, or even necessary.  And yet, what has always been valuable still remains as such.

On this Earth Day New Moon, may we find an abundance of inspiration from Mother Earth’s guidance in response to change.

New Moon in Taurus 4
Sabian Symbol:  ‘A rainbow’s pot of gold’

The blessings of this time come from the link between the physical and metaphysical realms, as the symbol of the rainbow represents.  The rainbow is often an image of hope, but also of connectivity.  It has often been seen as a source of communication from the Divine to Earth (such as Hera’s messenger, Iris, the Goddess of the Rainbow).  It is a bridge between what we can define with our senses (the ‘seven-colored reality’ that Saturn governs) and what is felt through extrasensory channels (the ‘otherworldly beyond’ introduced by Uranus).  Astrologically, this liminal space between these two states of consciousness is bridged by Chiron (the Cosmic Shaman), whose orbit travels between Saturn and Uranus.

In the previous Aries New Moon, Chiron was activated as a conduit of healing.  Through travelling that bridge between worlds where Chiron’s medicine flows…we now come to Uranian revelations in this Taurus lunar cycle.  The Planet of Awakening connects us with unexpected apertures of awareness that can lead to next-level ideas.  It can be a bit jarring, especially with the square vibration.  But ultimately, there is a proverbial pot of gold revealed by this rainbow.

What we must do to tap into such a fortunate turn of perception is to balance ourselves between restraint (Saturn) and justice (Astraea). In maintaining that balance, a choice-point arises that is unencumbered by our expectations (Moon-Sun-Uranus apex).  With some Taurus earth consideration, we respond with some productive action that holds the potential to manifest unique beauty in this world.

'Venus and Mars' by Geraldine Arata
Assisting in this awakening harmony is the ruler of Taurus, Venus (in Gemini), in a flowing air trine to her consort, Mars (in Aquarius).  This trine offers an easy transfer of communication in this New Moon from the Feminine and Masculine of our Collective. Venus has been out-of-bounds of the Sun’s path since April 4th and will continue her boundless journey until June 1st.  Out-of-bounds Venus loves a good Uranian journey into unknown territory…and in Gemini, she values the fascinating information that piques curiosity.  Like Uranus, this rebel nature of Venus through these months is not hindered by our limits of expectation.  The planet of Love and Beauty will shine her gifts from a road less travelled instead.  The activating passion of Mars can flow in this trine vibration.  In Aquarius, Mars is engaged in inventive action as a response to community needs.  This combination adds to the energy of bringing new information to light.

The fortune you find connected to this rainbow revelation may not be what you expected, but perhaps it will be better than what you might imagine.  In this Taurus New Moon, open yourself up to the impossible as a possibility.  A journey beyond the doors of our perception awaits us.

Love and Gratitude,
Felina Lune Kavi

P.S.  While rainbow symbolism was on my mind, the song 'Rainbow in the Dark' was playing in my head.  While Dio's original version of the song offers little suggestion of hope, there is something about the subtle humor and brilliant vocals of Puddles the Clown singing it that brought a smile to my face.  The lyrics highlight the feeling of despair that often comes across in the 5 of coins symbolism...not seeing the light while focused on the lack we're experiencing.  But, perhaps, hearing Puddles Pity Party sing it can coax that rainbow out of each of us.

Full Moon in Libra: Listening in a Time of Separational Sorrow

Art by Daniel Eskridge

Full Moon in Libra: Listening in a Time of Separational Sorrow
Moon opposite Sun- 9:35pm CDT on 4/7/2020

“When the oak is felled the whole forest echoes with its fall, but a hundred

acorns are sown in silence by an unnoticed breeze.” – Thomas Carlyle

As the Wind Moon waxes to full, there is some uneasiness in the air.  The agitation of the human race feeling the sorrow of separation is a prevalent frequency right now.  You might call it ‘stir-crazy’.  It can sneak in like a virus and be the only thing communicating through us if we’re not careful.

Art by Vladimir Kush
But there is a soft whisper in the wind calling us toward harmony…almost imperceptible behind the unsettling noise of opinion and unmet desire.  This frequency asks us to tune in with our intuitive ears.  Harmonic balance is not a matter of waking up to it and it just being there like a forever after bliss-state of being.  It is a frequency that takes consistent effort to return to and maintain.  Humans don’t like to hear that their ideals require effort, but that is part of the message whispered in these winds of change.

And yet, we humans cannot force it.  Rapid change may be brought by force as we are seeing within our daily lives now.  This rapid change…like the rug has been pulled out from under us…is the wake-up call.  It is not the change that will endure beyond our current experience of ‘pandemic’.   This too shall pass…and then we’ll have another choice point arise:  Fall back into old ways or keep building upon efforts inspired by this time?  The choice for enduring change ahead of us requires gentle persistence.

This Libra Full Moon is at perigee, meaning she is closer to our Earth (that’s what ‘Supermoon’ means).  She is bright and she has a powerful pull.  In Libra, the mood is relational.  Sun and Moon are illuminating the Aries-Libra axis of how one individual relates to another.  Feelings about justice, fairness, and equality are on high.  We are called to relate with each other, to build trust in relationships, all while keeping our physical distance.

How are we relating?  What are we communicating with each other?  Are we forcing our opinions and desires like a bunch of blowhards or are we connecting with each other in the gentle undercurrent of this Wind Moon?

The Vibrations Surrounding Us

'Lightworker' by Alex Grey
Don’t be too hard on yourself if you get entangled in the agitation and unease that will be strong throughout this day.  Mars square Uranus is a much more forceful kind of energy and it can’t be ignored.  Here’s what I recently wrote about it, with some tips on how best to use it:

“Mars square Uranus- In May 2018, we experienced this transit in these fixed signs of Air and Earth. In returning to this unpredictable dynamic, we may see themes return from that summer. The energy of that time was everything from volatile to inspiring…this square can be very unpredictable, and even incline the kind of speed that leads to accidents. It can have an unsettling effect…or it awaken waves of genius (often a mix of both). The vibration carries a shock of instability…and necessitates grounding to calm the nerves. From this, active innovations spring up and grow.”

Art by Josephine Wall
But then, Mercury in Pisces makes some subtle sextiles to our Capricorn planets that lead right up to this Full Moon.  The vibrations of the Messenger planet are that gentle frequency of harmony carried in the wind that I mentioned above.  The combination of the sextiles with the dynamic square is like the soft clarity of tinkling windchimes when the whole world is buzzing with the electricity of our current problems.  Here is what I recently wrote about these aspects:

“Mercury sextile Pluto- An opportunity for transformation through purification of the thought process arises. Tap in and purge some of the mental remnants that have been weighing on you.

Mercury sextile Jupiter- An opportunity to expand the mind. New horizons arise on this Full Moon night…and a bit of luck can go a long way.”

What follows this Full Moon, is Moon square Pluto and Jupiter…a time to activate the wisdom of those previous sextiles.  Several hours after Full Moon is another sextile.  As Mars separates from the square with Uranus, he comes into a more harmonious rapport with the Cosmic Shaman, Chiron.  Here’s what I wrote of this vibration:

“Mars sextile Chiron- Mars is not just the gung-ho Warrior archetype in our Cosmic Story. Often, he highlights the role of the Doctor as well…especially in this sextile with Chiron the Healer. During a crucial time within our current pandemic, an opportunity arises through this vibration to address the collective wound with more precision.”

Listen to the Soft Undercurrents

What really wants to happen, even among the din of frustrations, is the kind of clarity that comes from tapping into the ‘Art of Softness’.  Air signs highlighted now do incline us to want to communicate.  But we have one mouth, two ears.  Communication isn’t just a projective activity.  There is a participatory engagement to it that also requires listening.  The clarity of this time will come from how we listen…trusting our intuition when making our decisions.

You are likely to find that when you listen to what is behind all that others are saying, and when you listen to your own intuition, there is a clear theme:  ‘We need to take care of our physical health’.  It really is more important than the insecurities we fear of our near future, or who or what is to blame for that.  Instead of getting caught up in that frenzy, we’re asked to scale down and make some clear decisions about our health.  For some inspiration, listen to the music.

New Moon in Aries: The Rebirth of Healing

'Rebirth' by Delawer Omar

New Moon in Aries: The Rebirth of Healing
Moon conjunct Sun- 3/24/2020 @ 4:28am CDT

The Wind Moon cycle begins with a powerful gust.  The luminaries join with Chiron in Aries at the apex of a T-square with the Lunar Node axis…pooling all of the collective stress toward the Aries ‘I am’ we’re all feeling the pain of.  Chiron’s influence points out the wound as well as the healing path, but the squares to the nodes do make that Collective Wound more prominent and inflamed in this cardinal fire sign.  This is a wound that has been prevalent for over a month already, coinciding with the acceleration of the covid19 pandemic.  But the wound is not the virus.  It would be more accurate, astrologically, to see the virus as an Apple of Discord thrown into the Capricorn planetary party by Eris, who has been squaring that stellium for a while now.  She comes with a strong sense of purpose…and when that purpose is ignored, she has a way of showing us the importance of what we’re neglecting.

But the wound goes much deeper.  As I’ve mentioned before, this is a wound of the Collective Soul which has to do with our identity as a human species on this planet.  In many ways, we humans have a far more destructive viral impact on our world than the current pandemic.  As a whole, we escape this wound far more than we try to heal it.  And, in this moment, when we are faced with the effects of a global health crisis…our own collective wound is illuminated, as well as the healing path.

What we are seeing while so many are confined to their homes now is that the Earth is rejoicing.  It took a drastic change in the way humans go about their usually busy lives to show us how the Earth can heal and recover from our ‘me first’ footprints across the globe.  The question is…when we get through this pandemic together, will we be forever changed in the way we express our collective identity on this Earth?  Or…will we settle back into ‘business as usual’?  For Earth’s sake, all of this ‘we’re all in this together’ that the virus is teaching us must be the call we express loud and clear through AND beyond our current circumstances.

Wounded as we are…we must face our shadows, overcome the limitations of the mind, surrender our need to control life, and find our true humanity within ourselves before we can awaken to this healing.  It is a uniquely human story, but it is interconnected with all life of this planet.  As is often the case, we sometimes need to be shaken to awaken.

The Luminaries meet in the 5th degree of Aries, where the Sabian Symbol is ‘a triangle with wings’.  This symbol refers to the capacity for self-transcending.  As Rudhyar points out about this symbol, ‘A new dimension of being is envisioned, mobilizing creative endeavors.’  Chiron is in the next degree of Aries, where the symbol is ‘a square with one of its sides brightly illumined’.  This wound seeks stabilization in order to heal.  The square in the symbol reflects the very squares we’re feeling to this wound right now from the Nodal Axis.  Which side of this T-square is more illuminated in our path ahead, our karmic past (South Node) or our evolving future (North Node)?  With this Aries Stellium at the North Bending between the Lunar Nodes, it would suggest we are to find this stabilization of the Collective Wound through the square to the North Node.  The North Node in Cancer guides us forward with compassionate care and emotional bonding.  It protects us through connecting us to the heart.  It brings us home among family to nurture the changes necessary for our future.  And it amplifies the love and care being displayed by so many doing their best to take care of our needs on the front-lines of this pandemic.

This Aries Illumination is not just about showing us who we have been while we were ignoring this collective wound…it illuminates who we truly are at the heart of our humanity.  It shows us the healing path forward in these accelerated shifts.  Ultimately, we are designed to be stewards of this Earth and in service to the life that grows here.  We are protectors, defenders of this beautiful place.  We are not here to allow the destruction of it for our own temporary gains and misguided comforts and conveniences.  As the Capricorn Council has been warning us for some time now…we have a responsibility to this Earth.  That which is unsustainable is coming to an end one way or another.

You may have had your fill of endings recently, if the lunar orb has any pull on your inner waters. But the closing of one phase opens the fertile earth for the seeds of initiation. Now the Wind Moon begins the lunar springtime, and beginnings are budding all around you. Have the courage to face each new experience head on, trust the universe isn't against you, and lead the way.

Excesses eliminated, unnecessary energies released...it's all you needed to do all along. If you've done any part of that, enjoy the new outlook these life changes are inspiring. If you're still mulling over 'too many' changes...it only takes one to get the ball rolling.  And if you’re panicking in the face of ‘too many’ changes in the world confusing your sense of Self, place your hand on your heart and reconnect to your sense of humanity within.

Yes, these larger changes are accelerating during this Moon cycle.  Yes, it tends to confuse the direction we need to move toward to make our own personal changes in response.  But you are not alone in this.  We really are all in this together.  Release all the opinions flying around you as well as within, and center yourself with our Earth.  She has been guiding us all along, encouraging more and more of us to connect with her sense of direction.

Healing Art by Gioia Albano
Try not to overwhelm yourself as we make the changes necessary to heal this Collective Wound. Connect with your loved ones, find support.  It could be as simple as making a phone call to someone you are missing during this necessary experience of physical distancing.  Or it could be as wide-reaching as a group of Italian neighbors singing together from their individual balconies in response to the call of humanity’s heart.

Healing is a cooperative process, after all…not a miracle.  We are all here to help in this healing, whether it is our profession or not.

Love and Gratitude,
Felina Lune Kavi

Saturn in Aquarius: Establishing Innovation for the Collective

'New Man, New Woman' by Alex Gray

Saturn in Aquarius:  Establishing Innovation for the Collective

March 21 to July 1, 2020
December 16, 2020 to March 7, 2023

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world;  indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
-Margaret Mead

Tonight, Saturn entered the fixed air sign of Aquarius for an introduction to what will come in December this year and for the next few years after.  Saturn's last ingress into Aquarius was in 1991, so a look back through 1991-1994 can give some clues about important societal structures that will rise from the rubble of what has been crumbling away in the last couple of years.

Essentially, Saturn in Aquarius inclines forward-thinking innovations in community and technology.  So in the face of our current global pandemic, the inclination of Saturn in Aquarius is a more progressive and community-oriented system that sustains the people through hard times.  Aquarius is a humanitarian influence…and it brings a sense of togetherness that unites the unique qualities of individuals through a shared experience.

When Saturn was last in Aquarius in 1991, Tim Berners-Lee’s invention of the World Wide Web was first distributed outside of CERN and into public use.  This began the acceleration of the Information Age and allowed for human connection to span out across the globe no matter our physical distance.

And speaking of physical distance, that is what many of us are experiencing now as we are advised to either have as little physical contact with others or none at all.  It’s not really social distancing, as we are not as isolated as this phrase suggests, especially because of our use of technology.  Many who were previously working in the same physical space of their fellow co-workers are now working from home…often using the very technological advancements of internet service that have come from the last ingress of Saturn in Aquarius.  We are still able to connect socially but not physically.

Helpful as that is for many things, Saturn in Aquarius will also be pointing out that not all the technological advancements since the World Wide Web came out really benefit humanity.  It is the Saturnian way to incline a slow down or a definite stop to unsustainable practices within the influence of whatever sign Saturn is in.  Aquarius being linked to both humanity and technology brings up the potentially harmful connection between our bodies and the heightened radio waves of our modern age.  There is much debate about whether the 5g rollout across the world is doing more harm than good.  Interestingly, in this time of a global health crisis many of us only have our tech devices to connect outside of quarantine.  And yet, that heightened electricity so close to our bodies so often may also contribute to a weakening of our body’s natural ability to fight off infection.  It is something to consider that while some may not notice the effects, there are others of us who are much more sensitive to such things.  And Aquarius energy is a ‘we’re all in this together’ influence across the world.

Saturn is applying to a 90 degree square with Uranus in Taurus…which demands some action to alleviate the stress on this body-mind connection.  When the matter of our Earth becomes so electrically stimulated by a bombardment of new waves and frequencies, it puts our systems into a panic mode.  Again, as I’ve mentioned before in previous writings, the alleviating connection we need is that of Mother Earth.  She is the best at transmuting those extra, unwanted energies within us…not just the electric nervousness, anxiety, and panic but also the heavy energies that come along with extended time with little to no contact with others.  This combination of influences requires putting down the tech device more often and letting your body have a break.  If you can, stand barefoot in your yard and ground as often as you can.  If not, take some time to ground and center with meditation and visualization practices…planting that root at the base of your spine down onto the floor and allowing it to energetically extend to the earth below.  Release what is heavy, release what is jarring…allow Mother Earth to ground you and transmute those energies away from our bodies to restore our health and well-being.

Societal response to these structural and systemic shifts happening across the world is what really makes a difference during these Saturn cycles.  Saturn in Aquarius is ultimately a wise and community-oriented influence.  Saturn’s lesson here is that when we, the people, stand up for each other and embrace the humanity within all of us (demanding what is necessary for the whole and challenging what is only for the few)…we can update our systems in very innovative ways.

Looking back through the history of my own country (the United States), the egalitarian effects of Saturn in Aquarius are remarkable.  When Saturn was in Aquarius during the 60s, the Civil Rights Act was part of that societal response.  When Saturn was in Aquarius during the 30s, FDR’s New Deal began.  And now, we have the progressive opportunity for a Green New Deal…how will we respond to it?

From now until the beginning of July, we will get a taste of this Saturn in Aquarius medicine.  Saturn will retrograde back into Capricorn and return to Aquarius again in mid-December…continuing through this sign for another couple of years.  Everything that happens within this shift is best informed by forward-thinking in a ‘WE not ME’ way.

In this time, may we all do more to help out our brothers and sisters in need.  May we work together now to invent new solutions to the dysfunction of our past systems and structures.  May we look forward into our future and envision a world we improved for our descendants.
